GoDaddy Says Downtime Not Caused By DDoS

GoDaddy has commented on the downtime it suffered earlier this week blaming a "series of internal network events" as the reason for the loss of service and not a DDoS attack as initial reports suggested.
A number of GoDaddy services suffered downtime over a six hour period on Monday.  Initial reports suggested a DDoS, however GoDaddy Chief Executive Scott Wagner said the issues were caused by internal malfunctions.

"The service outage was not caused by external influences. It was not a 'hack' and it was not a denial of service attack..... at no time was any customer data at risk or were any of our systems compromised"

"We have determined the service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables... we took corrective actions to restore services for our customers and GoDaddy.com"
