Windows 8 windows to go operating systems microsoft
Microsoft has been ramping up it's Windows 8 marketing with big announcements this past few months. One of the most recent was the brand new Surface Tablet. The latest Windows 8 feature being pitched by the software giant is Windows 8 To Go. W8TG is essentially a portable version of the OS that will boot on PC's running Windows XP or later. All you need to build it is a machine with Windows 8 installed and a USB drive with 32GB or more. Soon after you will be booting Windows 8 on the go. The portable installation saves files, apps and settings meaning you can finish your work from the office on the train on the way home. Pitched at businesses the new feature takes into account standard enterprise management tools such as SCCM and Active Directory group policies.
Windows 8 To Go is also a nice way to test out the new operating system without screwing with your primary OS install.
We will be posting up a Step by Step tutorial on how to build a Windows 8 To Go drive in the next few days. Keep your eyes peeled!
