Browsers Google Chrome About To Surpass Internet Explorer in UK

Google chrome is about to become the most popular browser choice for residents of the UK according to recent statistics.  The graph below from StatCounter shows that Microsoft's Internet Explorer has been in decline since 2008 with its market share dropping from 75% to 31.5% in the UK in just over 4 years.

Windows 8 Windows 8 Pre RTM No Aero Desktop Leaked

One of the biggest changes Microsoft announced for Windows 8 was the change from the "Aero Glass" interface we had in Windows Vista and Windows 7 to a new Metro UI.  Until today these changes had not been fully seen as the weren't included in the recent Release Preview.

Customers Fear Pirated Software Says Microsoft

Attached Image: microsoft-pirate,Z-O-19428-1.jpgA Microsoft survey of 38,000 consumers from 20 countries has found that almost a third of those asked did not believe that genuine software was any more secure than pirated copies.  In fact they considered it “safe”.  Less than half of those surveyed raised concerns about data loss or identity theft from the use of pirated copies.

Microsoft believe that their survey indicated that consumer awareness about pirated software was high, which may be the case but they fail to note the lack of concern about using it.  The majority of respondents did state that they would like to see the government and software producers to try to do something about these issues.
