Avchd

Advanced Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD) is a file format that was orginally used in camcorders and allowed users to record to DVD or HDD. It now also supports   Blu Ray and is a widely is a widely used format for the recording and playback of High Definition video.

Azureus

Azureus is a java based Bittorrent Client first released in June 2003. Upon the release of version 3.1 in June 2008, Azureus changed name and has been known a Vuze ever since.

Bearshare

Bearshare was a gnutella based file sharing client originally created by Free Peers Inc. Following a U.S Supreme Court decision in June of 2005, the official Bearshare support forums were closed. In May 2006 Free Peers Inc paid a $30 million settlement fee to the RIAA and transferred all of their assets to an iMesh subsidiary company known as Music Lab. As of version x, Bearshare is no longer a free client and does not operate on the gnutella network.

Bitcomet

Bitcomet is a Bittorrent Client that was first released in August 2003 & made to run on the Microsoft Windows Operating System . Not only can you download your favourite torrents, Bitcomet also doubles up as a Download Manager which supports HTTP and FTP.

As if that wasn't enough to reel you in, Bitcomet is available in 52 different languages.

Bittorrent Protocol

The BitTorrent Protocol is a peer-to-peer (P2P)   file sharing protocol used for distributing large files, very fast. It is one of the most common   file sharing methods used today, accounting for around 27% to 55% of all Internet traffic in February 2009 (depending on location)

Blu Ray

Blu Ray is the very latest in disc technology. It can store up to 6 times more data than a DVD. It is commonly used for High Definition movies and the latest gaming consoles.

"Blu" was chosen over "Blue" because it would be easier to trademark. "Blue" is too common a word to trademark.

Blubster

Blubster was developed by Pablo Sato in 2001 along with the MANOLITO Protocol. This client runs on the MP2P network. In 2004 Pablo left the MP2P community which resulted in a dwindling userbase. In 2006 Pablo returned with an update to Blubster and introduced Piolet as a new contender in the   file sharing world.

Burst!

Burst! is an Open Source Bittorrent Client that began development in 2002. It server as an alternative client to use with the Bittorrent Protocol and had a nice GUI. By 2004 the client had a decent following, however the last version released was 3.1.0b. Since then Burst! has been surpassed by most other clients and is no longer considered a contender.
