Just found this little hack..took alittle while to work..had to remove all spaces.

[attachment=6019:attachment]

Adding Picture To Inside Of Folder:

1) Open notepad

2) Type in the text below:

[{BE098140-A513-11D0-A3A4-00C04FD706EC}]
IconArea_Image="C:\your picture location.jpg"
IconArea_Text=0x00000000

3) Save file as desktop.ini
Save as type : All Files

4) Copy the desktop.ini file you just created, and
paste into the folder you want the background to
be change (if Windows asks about replacing the desktop.ini file..say Yes).

5) Go to START --> RUN..

6) Type Attrib s "C:\Location of your folder" (or Attrib +s)
Click OK

7) Open your folder and the picture should be set by
now

'IconArea_Image' is for you to key in the location of your picture. Let say if your picture is located at 'My Documents' with the file name 'abc.jpg', your location will look like this
"C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\abc.jpg"

'IconArea_Text' is to set the color of your text, if you have a dark background it is recommended you set the text color to WHITE with is 0x00FFFFFF.
If you have a white background, you can set the folder text color to BLACK which is 0x00000000

Folder text color can be set to any color depends on which color you like, example:
PINK - 0x00FF99FF
PURPLE - 0x00FF99FF
RED - 0x00FF0000
and more

Recommended picture size is at 815 x 585 so that you will see a full picture and not Tile.
You can resize or cut your picture to the size
815 x 585 easily with 'Microsoft Photo Editor'.

Thats pretty much it...my pic is 815 x 734 and I see no problems @ 1024x768...I see full pic.
Once you get this working, to change the pic...all you have to do is edit the .ini file.

This might only work if the drive has Windows on it..use the drive where Windows is installed.

Adding Picture To Inside Of Folder:

Tried this twice with bmp and jpg to no avail.

Could there be a conflict if both the destination folder and the source image are in the same root directory?

Also, does the first desktop.ini that's created and copied have to be deleted afterwards?

I used a .jpg on mine..I also overwrote the .ini file when it asked..it will make a new one anyway, if you delete it.
From all I read & from what I did..the picture can be anywhere...the .ini file has to be in the folder you want to change. It will only do that folder..if you want other folders done..you have to do the process all over again into another folder.

The paths have to be right....The path to the pic in the .ini file & the path to the folder in the run command. Make sure the folder is closed & anything inside it too.
Copy & paste your .ini file here & I'll look it over...

I've been using this for years, but It's a tough feature to find.

I always thought it was too bad that this function was never more commonly known. It should have been made a simple configuration option.
