Hello, I was always curious since I ever started using the newsgroups that GrabIt with my downloads are so slow. Why is that? I have a movie going now and it's been running for about 23 hours and between 4 and 5 days left. Is there a way to get around that or is it just my system and ISP which is RCN? RCN is bad when it comes to downloading using p2p such as torrents. I don't know it really effects using the newsgroups...Thank you.........

I feel pretty safe in saying that it is your ISP and not grab-it. My News Server connection occasionally will slow down, but it always picks up again. Sometimes it takes a few hours, but it never lasts too long. :D

I can probably do something to fix it but I never had experience doing it. Which I am about 90 some positive it will fix it. Probably do an OpenSSH server.

Wow. I'm a couple weeks late. RCN uses the unlimited download but limit the speed approach.

I am late also. I moved and then got RCN back.

My main and biggest question, how do I get passed the capped download speeds? I am using GrabIt.

maybe think about paying for a better news provider, some internet providers are basterds when it comes to newsgroups etc, so pay for one.

:hehe:

If your internet provider is capping your download speed go to that link above and choose the plan you want.
ever thought about maybe using torrent files too if you cant get something from a newsprovider?

I believe its your internet provider being a arse.
